If Gandhi had played guitar, grown hair and sung at the top of his lungs, he still wouldn't have had Roy Zimmerman's wicked sense of musical satire. On the other hand, Roy Zimmerman has never liberated a nation from a tyrannical oppressor. He's working on it though, one song at a time. Roy sings a compelling combination of socially conscious comedy and original music. It's Lenny Bruce meets Stephen Sondheim meets Phil Ochs in Brian Wilson's living room. Many fans have eagerly awaited Roy's newest CD, Thanks for the Support, a collection of twelve fiercely funny songs about the absurdities of this election season, all recorded live and the satirical soundtrack for Roy's fifty-state campaign. The title track is Roy's heartbreaking take on those "Support Our Troops" bumper stickers, and what that support must feel like to one of those troops. Those who buy the CD on-line because they can't wait to possess it will want to bring it to the concert for Roy's autograph. See an extensive bio, lyrics, concert schedule and CD's for sale at www.royzimmerman.com "Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society's foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer." The Los Angeles Times

When we said No Child Left Behind
We’re cutting luxuries like teachers, books and
tutors
And you say that’s stupid
And yeah, it’s stupid
There's this great Popeye cartoon where he gets
inside of Bluto's shirt.
